Let’s Rise Together.

A Stronger, More Inclusive IPC

With Chelsey Gotell as Your Member-At-Large

This Movement changed my life—and now, I want to help shape its future.

As a three-time Paralympian, 12-time medalist, coach, sport administrator, and governance leader, I bring clear vision, and deep institutional knowledge to the Movement.

I’ve spent nearly a decade serving on the IPC Governing Board—building real relationships, listening deeply, and doing the work that moves us forward. I know what it takes to lead through change, and I’ve seen firsthand what’s possible when we act boldly, together.

I want to continue to serve as Member-at-Large because I believe we’re at a pivotal point in our evolution. The IPC needs bold, balanced leadership: grounded in experience, and deeply connected to both the complexity of international sport governance and the lived experience of athletes.

I bring all of this.

Beyond credentials, I care—deeply. I care about our members who are building programs with limited resources. I care about those who still face barriers to access and inclusion. I care about the long-term credibility, relevance, and sustainability of our Movement. Because when we get it right, the Paralympic Movement doesn’t just change sport—it changes the world.

And I believe, that with your trust, I can help lead the IPC forward with clarity, courage, and compassion.

This is the moment to lead boldly. And I’m ready.

“I’ve proudly served nine years on the IPC Governing Board—as Member at Large and previously as the Chair of the Athletes’ Council—and brought trusted leadership and continuity to our membership since 2016.”

— Chelsey Gotell

This is a decisive moment in our history. The IPC has a chance to lead through change and innovation. That is the legacy I am ready to help shape —a future where the IPC is a global force for change: driven by sport, defined by equity, and powered by a united, future-focused community.

As Member at Large on the IPC Governing Board,

I’ve turned vision into action, championing initiatives that have delivered tangible impact for our members and athletes.

Here are three examples of how I’ve made that happen.

  1. Led global consultation on athletes with high support needs, resulting in unanimously approved IPC Board recommendations to update the definition and improve accreditation systems—enhancing dignity and consistency at future Games.

  2. Supported the strategic transition of five Para sports to independent federations as part of IPC’s governance reform, advancing sustainability and autonomy for the remaining IFs.

  3. Co-developed 70 governance reform recommendations for WADA, securing unanimous approval and increased Paralympic athlete representation—strengthening transparency and advocacy within global anti-doping efforts.

These few examples demonstrate that I approach my role with intention and action. I am committed to doing the necessary work to drive meaningful change.

“I’m not interested in playing by the old rulebook. I want to write a new one—together. One that reflects the diversity of our Movement, the ambition of our athletes, and the urgency of this moment.”
